ALL ABOUT SUMMER STRINGS CAMP

What will we be doing at camp?
Summer Strings Camp is an immersive orchestra experience packed into just 5 days! Grow over the summer in your skills, technique, and enjoyment of your musical talents!
For kids age 8+, participants must have at least 2 years playing experience. For children with less than 2 years experience, we have recommendations for teachers while you get ready to join Summer Strings Camp in the future!
On Monday, musicians will receive their music for the week and being rehearsals. Each day will include instruction and rehearsal, in preparation for a final concert Friday afternoon, immediately following camp. prepare to perform by Friday afternoon. Family and friends are invited to attend this free performance.

When will camp be held?
Camps will be offered June 9-13 and July 21-25. Each session will have unlimited participant capacity. Musicians may attend one or both sessions.

Who can attend camp?
Summer camps are intended to be an opportunity for musicians with a range of abilities to participate in an orchestra, particularly outside of school classes.

The only limit we place is age and experience. Participants must be at least 8 years old with at least 2 years experience.

**Because of the nature of camp, please consider your child's ability to pay attention, respect leaders and peers, and learn music in just one week before registering them for camp. This is not child care. We hope to provide an experience for all musicians that they are excited about and proud to be a part of.

How much does camp cost? What is included in the fee?
Camp registration costs $170 per child. For you, this includes 5 days (4 hrs per day) of camp, provided music (not to keep), a camp shirt, a pizza party on Friday, and the performance. For us, this covers production costs, music purchases, location rental fees, and contracted personnel compensation. Campers will be required to wear black pants/skirt/dress, black shoes, and their camp shirt for the performance on Friday. No shorts. Please contact us at lowerlightstheatrecompany@gmail.com if your child wants to participate but is inhibited by cost and we will do our best to work with you.
