Requirements
Auditioning musicians should prepare a solo piece that highlights their technical proficiency, musicality, and tone quality. This can be an excerpt from a concerto, sonata, etude, or any work that best demonstrates your abilities on your instrument. The selection should not exceed two minutes.
Audition Dates
February's audition date is 2/8 from 9:30 - Noon.
Audition dates for May and August are TBD, but are tentatively planned to be the first two Saturdays in May and the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays in August.
Audition applications will close after 8/1/2025, but you are still welcome to apply at any time. Please contact lowerlightstheatrecompany+orchestra@gmail.com to inquire about available spots or substitute opportunities after the audition period has closed.
We welcome musicians of high school age and older to audition, with exceptions for younger individuals considered on a case-by-case basis through audition.
Our auditions are an informal process designed to help the Conductor understand each musician's skill level and ensure appropriate placement within the orchestra. You are invited to feel at ease and simply showcase your current abilities. Auditioning will not prevent you from being accepted.

No compensation will be given to performers. This is for the joy of playing.

Rehearsals will be Saturday mornings in Centerton throughout the year, with the summers off, beginning September 13, 2025. We will hold 4 regular performances: October, December (Christmas), March, May (Memorial Day), with additional performance opportunities added as available.
The annual fee will be waived until August 2026. Fundraising will be required.

Kids with at least 2 years playing experience who are interested in growing in their playing ability can join our Summer Strings Camp which will take place in June and July 2026.
