2026/2027 Season Callback Information

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Lower Lights Theatre Company’s 2026/2027 season!

We were excited by the response to this year’s auditions. It was wonderful to see returning performers continue to grow, and we were equally excited to meet so many new actors, singers, dancers, and performers interested in becoming part of Lower Lights.

After reviewing the virtual auditions, our artistic teams are ready to move into the callback portion of the audition process for our three productions:

The Wizard of Oz
Wrangle at Red Mountain Ranch

Before You Check the Lists

If your name does not appear on a callback list, that does not mean you have not been cast.

Callbacks are simply an opportunity for the artistic team to gather additional information before finalizing casting. We may want to hear someone read another role, see different performers together, explore character combinations, or take a closer look at a particular part of an audition.

In many cases, the original virtual audition gave us everything we need, and an additional audition is not necessary.

The Wizard of Oz

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for The Wizard of Oz!

Callbacks for this production will take place on August 31 and September 1.

Some performers may be asked to attend both evenings. Additional information regarding time, location, and callback materials will be communicated directly to those participating.

Monday: All actors receiving a Monday callback should plan to attend Monday’s callback.

At the end of Monday’s callbacks, we may make some casting decisions. Some actors may be released from the callback process at that time and will not need to attend Tuesday. If this happens, we will let you know directly.

Tuesday: Only actors who are specifically asked to return will attend Tuesday’s callback.

Being released from the process on Monday does not mean you did anything wrong or that your audition was unsuccessful. Casting is about finding the right combination of actors for the specific roles and the overall production, and sometimes those decisions simply become clearer as we work with everyone.

For now, please plan on attending your scheduled callback. If you are needed on Tuesday, we will let you know before you leave Monday’s callback.

Be sure to RSVP to your callback. Instructions will be included in your email.

After callbacks are complete, each artistic team will finalize casting for its production.

Please remember that the purpose of auditions and callbacks is not to rank performers from “best” to “worst.” Our goal is to find the right fit for each role and identify opportunities where each performer can contribute and shine.
