Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”, The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When are the practices and performances?
Starting Saturday, August 12th, we'll hold rehearsals Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings at Canvas Church.
Performances will be on Friday and Saturday September 22-23, 2023, also at Canvas Church.
I can't come to or I missed auditions. Can I still audition?
Yes! We know many people are still on vacation, so we are accepting video auditions for those who cannot attend auditions but will be able to attend rehearsals. If you have questions or want to submit a video audition, please email lowerlightstheatrecompany@gmail.com. (Please note: If you are wanting to submit a 4th-8th grade video audition, plase contact Cheri at lowerlightstheatrecompany@gmail.com to see if we are still accepting videos.)
What should I prepare?
Your audition will include singing and acting. Callbacks will include dancing. You can choose to prepare your own monologue and song, or prepare one of the following monologues and songs from the show:
You can choose any monologue and song, even if it is not for the character you are auditioning for. The only exception is if you want to be considered for Collin, please prepare his song as well.
Third graders auditioning can prepare whichever song and monologue they'd like.
Who will be directing this show?
This show will be directed by Kailey Erwin, Arkansas native and theatre graduate. She recently directed "The Claw" at Camp Lighthouse, and has been involved with many theatre companies in Northwest Arkansas.
If I make the cast, how much does it cost to participate?
This show has a $50 participant fee for all performers. In addition, each performer is required to secure at least $75 in sponsorships for the show. This can be done through family, friends, local businesses, etc. It can be one sponsorship or several, totaling at least $75. Each performers will also need to sell 10 tickets to the show. The price per ticket is $5 in advance or $8 at the door. If these fees are cost prohibitive, please reach out to lowerlightstheatrecompany@gmail.com and we'll work it out together.
